In less than three years, since launched in the fall of 2008, 
the Kids Vision for Life project and the national Adopt-A-School effort have made stunning progress.

• Expanded Dallas ISD program and Carrolton-Farmers Branch ISD
• Expanded program to Fort Worth ISD, Arlington ISD (& to Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD)
• Established an Austin/Central Texas area Coalition to create a major Central Texas effort
• Conducted expanded Austin and Pflugerville ISDs KVFL pilots, served students from Central Texas ISDs through large public events
• Established connection with Houston partners for KVFL involvement in Fall 2011
• Significantly expanded Adopt-A-School model
• Second Kids Vision Fest at the Guadelupe Cathedral in Dallas

• Partnership between Alcon Foundation and Essilor Vision Foundation to expand KVFL to Tarrant County and beyond
• Established a Tarrant County KVFL Coalition
• Initiated KVFL in the Everman ISD in Tarrant County
• First 9 months after IRS non-profit letter receipt, multiple local private foundation grants
• Center for Nonprofit Management 2009 awards:  Excellence in Mission Achievement (<$1 mil budget); EVF Chairman Jacques Stoerr, Excellence in Board Leadership finalist
• First pilot in Austin at Book Festival at the invitation of Mrs. Laura Bush
• First Kids Vision Fest at the Dallas Public Library, with Mrs. Laura Bush participating 

• Developed strong collaborations between KVFL, Lions Sight and Tissue Foundation, Dallas ISD, and other organizations that serve students and their families
• Created Adopt-a-School model
• Created a Dallas Advisory Council (major community political and civic leaders)
• Piloted Kids Vision for Life implementation in Dallas ISD
• Achieved significant in-kind donations from frame companies
• 5,000 students screened; 2,100 received free eye exams, eyeglasses first academic year
