AS PART OF WORLD SIGHT DAY, ESSILOR EMPLOYEES PLEDGE TO RAISE $1 MILLION OVER NEXT THREE YEARS TO PROVIDE EYEGLASSES TO CHILDREN IN NEED

DALLAS (Oct. 11, 2012) – In commemoration of World Sight Day, Essilor employees today launched a three-year, $1-million fundraising campaign benefiting the Essilor Vision Foundation, which will provide vision screenings, eye exams and eyeglasses free of charge to thousands of schoolchildren who cannot afford them otherwise. Research shows that without proper vision care, children may face lifelong struggles with literacy, low self-esteem, unemployment, poverty and crime.

DALLAS – September 28, 2012 – The Essilor Vision Foundation and The Special Olympics in New York City. On the opening day of the annual meeting, President Bill Clinton announced a $12 Foundation recently had the honor of participating in the 2012 Clinton Global Initiative Annual Meeting million grant from businessman and philanthropist Tom Golisano to the Special Olympics, which will allow for the launch of a new Healthy Communities initiative.

ESSILOR CEO HONORED BY SPECIAL OLYMPICS

DALLAS – September 18, 2012 – Hubert Sagnieres, Essilor International Chairman and CEO, was honored by Special Olympics Chairman and CEO, Dr. Timothy P. Shriver, at a Special Olympics Dinner on Sept. 13, at the National Museum of The American Indian in Washington DC. Sagnieres was recognized for his continued global leadership and advocacy with the Essilor Vision Foundation. "The Essilor Vision Foundation's commitment to the Special Olympics is one that is near and dear to my heart," said Sagnieres. "It's one of the many ways Essilor chooses to give the gift of sight to those who might not otherwise be able to afford it, and we are committed to helping these athletes experience better lives through better sight."
